Ashtyn Richey

Coach Richey is entering her 3rd year in public education and 2nd year at Lovejoy. She teaches World and US History and coaches JV Volleyball & Freshman Girls Basketball. She spent her first year as the Assistant/JV coach for the 2020 Volleyball State Semi-Finalist and the assistant basketball coach at Needville High School. In the school off-season she works at Arsenal Volleyball Club. Prior, she worked as a Youth Volleyball Director and Interim Beach Director for Houston Volleyball Academy from 2018-2020. 


Coach Richey graduated from Houston Christian University with a BA in Medical Humanities and a minor in Psychology. She committed to SMU her sophomore year of HS for volleyball. She attended SMU for her first year before transferring to HCU to play for the volleyball team, Dawgs Up! She grew up in Pilot Point, TX and moved halfway through her sophomore year where she graduated from Prosper High School in 2016.


Coach Richey has enjoyed being back in North Texas for the last year after living in Houston since 2017. In her free time she enjoys bike rides, reading books, taco night, and being with family and friends. She has especially enjoyed being an aunt for the first time and becoming a dog mom to a frenchie named Jax!
