Varsity Baseball defeated Keller Central 5-0 on Thursday, as three pitchers (Brett Lanman, Parker Hutchins and Drew Summers) combined to throw a shutout.

The Leopards scored 2 runs in the first inning when Kyle Branch led off with a walk, took 3rd on a double by Aidan Smith and scored on a sac fly by Ralph Rucker (RBI). Smith scored the second run on a wild pitch. In the 3rd inning one run was scored on a double by Smith and a sac fly by Ralph Rucker (RBI). The Leopards scored 2 insurance runs in the 6th inning on a HBP, a single by Adam Eschler and a 2 RBI double by Matthew Mainord.

Parker Hutchins took the win for the Leopards pitching 2 2/3 innings giving up no runs on 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Brett Lanman pitched the first 3 innings giving up one hit and striking out 2.

Smith led the Leopards at the plate going 2-3.

Leopards are 1-0 on the season. Next up is Frisco Memorial.
