Lovejoy Wins McNeil Invitational

On Friday 9.25.20 the Leopards traveled to Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, TX to compete in the McNeil Invitational. The McNeil Invitational is typically ran on the same course used for the State Cross Country Championship, but due to recent rain the course was moved to an alternate location in the park.

The Lady Leopards raced their first 5K of the season at 12:00 PM. Some of the states top ranked teams participated in the 5A Girls Race. #1 Boerne Champion, #2 Grapevine, #4 Lovejoy, and #5 Georgetown battled out the 5K race. The Lady Leopards won the meet with 54 points. Dripping Springs placed 2nd overall with 59 points. Boerne Champion, Grapevine, and Georgetown finished with 64, 71, and 93 points respectively. Amy Morefield won the meet with a time of 18:03 and Kailey Littlefield placed 5th overall with a time of 18:46.

The Boys team also raced their first 5K of the season at 12:30 PM. State ranked teams #1 Grapevine, #2 Boerne Champion, #4 Dripping Springs, and #5 Lovejoy all competed in the 5A Boys division. The Leopards placed 3rd overall with 75 points behind Grapevine (41 Points) and Boerne Champion (48 Points). Dripping Springs finished 4th overall with 101 points. Trevor Malik led the Leopards with a 9th overall finish in a time of 16:20.
