On Tuesday night the Junior Varsity team beat Sherman 6-1. Goals were scored by Aubrey Goff, Kailey McDonald, Alexa Paharik, and Samatha Belatur (birthday hat trick!). Assists were by Aubrey Goff (2), Eleanor Koehn, Natalie Reyna, and Natalia Duran De La Vega. The JV team is now 9-5-2 overall and 5-2-2 in district.
Last night the Varsity team beat Sherman 3-0. Hailey Downing and Kamri McKnight were goal for their second straight clean sheet. Defenders Sadie Dale, Jordan Watson, Maggie Manders, Callan Snider, Bella Ospina, Amiya Callicutt, Andee Richardson, and Abby Wood restricted Sherman to just a few shots on goal during the game. The first goal was scored by Reagan Matacale with an assist from Hannah Dunlap. Emmy Wood scored the second after an assist from Reagan Matacale. Paige Young scored the third goal from the penalty spot after Reagan Matacale was fouled in the box. The Varsity team is now 13-6 overall and 6-2 in district, just 3 points out of first place and tied for second on points.
Also on Tuesday night, Reagan Matacale broke the all-time (27) and season (14) assists records at Lovejoy. The career record, which she beat in just three years, has stood for 8 years and the season record stood for 6 years. Congratulations Reagan!!
