Lovejoy Varsity Baseball defeated Poteet 3-0 on Thursday in the Royse City tournament, as Brendan Dunleavy threw 5 2/3 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 17 to earn the win. Adam Eschler threw one pitch to induce a fly out to finish off the game.
The Leopards offense scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning on a sac fly by Dylan Collins, and an RBI single from Brett Sabin. Adam Eschler had a single as well.
Leopards will play two games today at Melissa. Squaring off with Melissa in game one starting at 2pm and Hillcrest at 4:30pm in game 2. Leopards are now 1-0 on the season.
