Lovejoy VS Wylie East
The JV Red got out to an early lead against Wylie East and never looked back in their 55-19 win at home Tuesday night. Shelby Tokarz led all scorers with 16 points. Margo Friloux, Audrey McCaffity, and Linnea Maddux each added 8 points. Ashlyn DuBois and Ava Bouldin both had 4. Annalysa Ritchie had 3 points, Triniti Chambers-Guinard added 2, and Elliot Pomeroy and Bella Levin each added 1 point. The Lady Leopards, now 5-0 in district, will play again next Tuesday at home against Sherman.
The JV Black avenged a first round loss to Wylie East last night, winning at home, 44-41. Leading scorers for the Leopards were Chloe Schaeffer and Katie Dolberry, each with 12. Additional scorers were Kailyn Allen and Kendall Dodson, both with 5. Hallell Pang and Sydney Chapman, each had 3, while Soli Stubbs and Maddie Clancy both chipped in 2. The Leopards now have their sights on Denison as they try to avenge their only other loss in the first round of district Friday night in Denison.
The varsity was defeated by Wylie East by a score of 54-52. Scorers for Lovejoy included Samantha Basson 15 points, Carsen McFadden 13 points, Grace Bennett 11 points, Addison Hand 8 points, Julia Brochu 3 points, and Carly Ludlow 2 points. Other statistical leaders were Carsen McFadden 6 assists and 11 rebounds, Addison Hand/Carsen McFadden with 3 steals and 1 block apiece.
JV Black and Varsity will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Denison to play at 5:00 and 6:15pm.
