Alex Duran
Coach Duran has taught high school
Spanish for 24 years and began his coaching career 21 years ago. He has coached club, high school, and Olympic
Development soccer teams. He played club soccer and was recruited by and played
on the men’s soccer team for the University of Tulsa where he met his wife
Tracey. He joined the USISL Dallas Toros
during the college off season and continued playing as a semi-professional
after graduating with a degree in Education and Spanish. He obtained a USSF
national “D” coaching license and a NSCAA “national diploma”. He was the head soccer coach for John Horn High
School and coached boy’s freshman and varsity soccer with Allen ISD. Throughout
his tenure as a coach he has been privileged to be mentored by and work
collaboratively with respected coaches who have molded him as a soccer player,
coach, and an individual. He continually seeks to grow the sport and exert a
positive influence on the next generation of players. He was honored to be
inducted into the University of Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2011.
