Lovejoy beat Greenville twice this week to move to 4-0 to open district play. The Leopards won 3-0 on Tuesday behind the arm of junior right hander Asher Lacy. Lacy threw 6 shutout innings allowing only two hits with 4 K. Offensively, Reese Ogden, Kyle Branch and Garrett Hutchins each collected a hit and drove in a run .
Friday was a different story entirely as the Leopards exploded for 11 runs. Logan Corley (2-4, 2R, 2RBI) and Garrett Hutchins (1-2, 2RBI) led the offensive onslaught. Seniors Grant Harlan and Kyle Branch combined for 5 innings and 9 K allowing only one run.
The Leopards will face Anna for Senior Day on Saturday at 1 pm.
