Varsity
The varsity was defeated by Braswell by a score of 40-34. The Leopards were led by Carsen McFadden with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 steals. Other scorers included Julia Brochu 8 points, Addison Hand 6 points, Abigail Omobogie 4 points, and Mallory Adamson 2 points. Other statistical leaders were Mallory Adamson 6 assists and Addison Hand 1 block.
JV Black
Lovejoy JV Black gave a good run at home in the game against Braswell. We have a lot to work on after the 26-46 loss, but the whole team is ready and eager to get back in the gym and work on our game. Our leading scorers were Avae and Katie with 6 points each, Soli with 5 points, Kendall and Chloe both had a 3 pointer and Maddie C going 50% from the free throw line.
JV Red
The Lady Leopards JV Red beat Braswell in a tough matchup Tuesday night at home with a score of 28-27. The Leopards were down early in the first quarter, but fought back to tie it up in the second quarter. Down 2 at the half, Lovejoy came out in the third quarter to take their first lead. It was back and forth throughout the fourth quarter and Braswell hit a shot with 13 seconds left to take a one point lead, but the Lady Leopards pushed the ball and Annalysa Ritchie hit the game winner with less than a second on the clock. Shelby Tokarz and Elliot Pomeroy led all scorers with 6 points each. Audrey McCaffity and Linnea Maddux each had 4, Margo Friloux had 3 points, Bella Levin and Annalysa Ritchie each had 2 points, and Ava Bouldin had 1.
