Ryan Gordon was announced as Lovejoy Track and Field MVP for the 2019 season at the annual Lovejoy Track and Field banquet hosted by the Lovejoy XCTF Booster Club on Thursday, May 16th. Gordon finished his record-breaking career at the UIL 5A State Track and Field Championship in Austin, finishing 2nd in the 200m.
The Leopards had over 90 athletes participate in at least one track and field meet in the 2019 season. Lovejoy was represented in 16 different meets, setting 10 new school records. The Leopards finished as Runner-up in the District 10-5A, Area, and the Regional II meets. 18 athletes qualified for the Area Meet, 13 athletes qualified for the Regional Meet, and 8 athletes qualified for the State Meet, where the Leopards finished 13th overall.
