Boys Varsity Baseball falls to Frisco Lone Star 4 – 3

Lovejoy Goes Down On Final Play Against Frisco Lone Star in game 2 of the Regional Quarterfinals. The series is evened up at 1-1.

It came down to the last play, but Lovejoy was on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Frisco Lone Star on Friday in an extra inning affair. Lone Star took the lead in the first inning on a sac fly, then scored two runs in the 4th inning to go up 3-0. However, the Leopards evened things up in the top of the sixth on a single by Michael DiFiore, a walk to Jake terwilliger, a RBI single by RW Rucker, and a single by Cameron Pool (2RBI). DiFiore (2B), Rucker (2B), and Jordan Yoder each managed two hits to lead Lovejoy and Luke Stine racked up a 2B.

Stine toed the rubber for Lovejoy. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out eight. Harrison Durow threw three and a third innings in relief.
Bogusz got the start for Frisco Lone Star. He allowed seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out nine.

The Leopards move on to the final game of the 3 game series tonight at 6:00pm at John Paul II.
