Ashtyn Richey - JV & Assistant Coach
Coach Richey is entering her 4th year in public education and 3rd year at Lovejoy. She teaches World and US History and coaches JV Volleyball & Freshman Girls Basketball. She spent her first year as the Assistant/JV coach for the 2020 Volleyball State Semi-Finalist and the assistant basketball coach at Needville High School. In the school off-season she works at Arsenal Volleyball Club. Prior, she worked as a Youth Volleyball Director/Coach and Interim Beach Director for Houston Volleyball Academy from 2018-2020.
Coach Richey graduated from Houston Christian University with a BA in Medical Humanities and a minor in Psychology. She committed to SMU her sophomore year of HS for volleyball. She attended SMU for her first year before transferring to HCU to play for the volleyball team, Dawgs Up! She grew up in Pilot Point, TX and moved halfway through her sophomore year where she graduated from Prosper High School in 2016.
Coach Richey has enjoyed being back in North Texas for the 2 years after living in Houston from 2017 to summer 2022. In her free time she enjoys reading books, taco night, playing adult volleyball leagues, and being with family and friends. She especially enjoys going on walks with her french bulldog, Jax!
